ABOUT
Come and enjoy a place of serenity where memories have been made for many years!! The beautiful 3-bedroom 2-bath Loon Lodge is located on amazing Bear Lake in Kalkaska. Wander down 75 steps and a hill to reach the ultra-clear lake everyone talks about.
Loon Lodge comes equipped with everything needed to make you feel at home. To meet your entertainment needs, WiFi and a 65-inch TV have been installed.
While a wood stove keeps you warm on cool nights, kitchen essentials and a grill make mealtime a breeze. A large dock, firepit, picnic table, and patio furniture will meet all your outdoor needs.
For family fun, Loon Lodge comes stocked with a wide selection of games and puzzles.
Located halfway between the towns of Grayling and Kalkaska, the Lodge is only minutes away from all that these quaint towns have to offer including great restaurants and shops. Grayling hosts the Canoe Marathon in July and the farmer’s markets all summer long. For summer use, Grayling’s Hanson Hills offers great mountain bike trails, a park, and disc golf courses while during the winter there’s ski and tubing hills. Kalkaska, meanwhile, is known for the Trout Festival in April as well as a fun downtown playground for the kids.
Up for an awesome day trip? Head towards the other unique surrounding towns, Traverse City, Petosky and Gaylord. All are only a short drive from the Lodge. Beyond the memorable shopping and restaurants are unbelievable golf courses, casinos, and other ski lodges. If you have not been to this part of the State you will be amazed by the world-renowned lakes and rivers. Because of the cool nights and unique soil, these areas also host some of the best wineries this side of Napa Valley!
Whether you’re coming to town for the Cherry Festival, Traverse City Film Festival, Petosky Bike Fest, International Fireworks Championship, or Sunflower Festival, let the Lodge be the place you come back to after a long day of fun!
Loon Lodge is a great spot for all seasons. In the warmer months, enjoy the lake on the pontoon (also available to rent), kayaks, or just as a great place to swim or fish. If off-roading or snowmobiling are more your speed, the Lodge is only 3/4 of a mile from endless DNR trails. Come up in the fall to see all the beautiful colors the lake and the surrounding area have to offer.
Have you ever dreamt of leisurely floating down the river? Both the Manistee and Au Sable Rivers have access spots close to the Lodge. Renting a canoe or kayak is a great way to spend the day!
Loon Lodge is also dog friendly, offering a convenient dog run right outside the back door. Relax on the back porch while you and your pup enjoy views of the lake.
Now is the time to reserve Loon Lodge whether for family time or just to get away from it all!
